Things to Consider: The Douro Cruiser, while  comfortable and well-maintained, is a simpler and somewhat older vessel  compared to other Gate 1 European river cruises. As such, guests may  notice differences in the ship's design and amenities. However, service  levels, the professionalism of the ship's crew and entertainment staff,  as well as the quality of meals, remain consistent with Gate 1 standards  across all river cruise programs. This tour is not recommended for  people who have difficulty walking. 

High & Low Water: Weather conditions or  unforeseen events, such as heavy fog, a damaged lock, or an  incapacitated vessel blocking the river, may impact a sailing. In such  cases, the itinerary may be operated partially or entirely by motor  coach, accompanied by a professional Tour Manager, with overnights in  hotels. We remain committed to preserving as many of the originally  scheduled touring features as possible and will strive to ensure a  seamless and enjoyable travel experience. 

Pace & Terrain: This tour has 3-4 hours  of walking on included sightseeing days, as well as considerable time  standing. You may need to walk on uneven and challenging terrain,  navigate steep steps or slopes, and encounter cobblestone streets.
